Today, committeemen and committeewomen representing half of St. Louis City chose to deny residents of the Missouri State Senate’s Fourth District effective representation. Joe Keaveny will be the Democratic Party’s candidate for State Senate in the November 3 special election to succeed disgraced former Senator Jeff Smith. Rachel Storch was the only nominee for the seat who presently serves in elective office, as Jamilah Nasheed withdrew from consideration this morning. I may revisit this topic when the shock of this disgraceful decision by the committee members subsides. Francis Slay thinks that he won the battle, but you know what they always say. Francis Slay will never be my mayor, and Joe Keaveny will never be an effective State Senator. Storch was the only person qualified for this office, yet she will not have the opportunity to represent the Fourth Senatorial District.

She will have the opportunity to KO Keaveny when the time comes to run for a full tern, though. I wonder why Nasheed dropped out? Also, this proves which side of the coin Sharon Tyus is on. What a vindicitve b1#(*. She needs to be gotten rid of. Old Troupe must have been right
If anything, this demonstrates how the city needs to get rid of its corrupt party machine. Get rid of these useless “committees”, useless ward orgs, etc etc etc that only invite corruption and graft.
